A Fresh Twist on an opening night at the opera!

Traditionally, opera galas are large-scale, expensive, formal events. In order to spend more time with YOU, our supporters, OperaDelaware is rolling out a series of Microgalas — more intimate affairs catering to particular interests.

Whether we’re partnering with our friends at Dogfish Head, bringing in powerhouse performers like Sharon Sable and Joe Holt, enjoying the best fried chicken in Delaware, playing professionally run games casino games, or masquerading in handmade masks, there’s always something new and exciting at an OperaDelaware Microgala!

The party starts before the downbeat

Join the party before the opera from 5:30-7 at The Grand Opera House and enjoy light bites and drinks before the show while you pose like the prose on the Red Carpet Runway.

Add on tickets to make your opening night experience at OperaDelaware unforgettable!

FAQ: “What do I wear to an OPERA?”

Whatever makes you feel fabulous!

One of the BEST things about a night out is getting to dress to impress - so put on your favorite outfit, glam it up, and show us your unique style. The opera is a chance to SEE AND BE SEEN in our Red Carpet Runway Photoshoot with photographer Meghan Newberry.

What does “Dress to Impress” really mean?

It means wearing what makes you feel YOUR best! Whether that’s a ballgown with sneakers, a tiara, a tux, or some bedazzled overalls - we want to see how YOU express yourself at the opera! Opening Night photos taken by Meghan Newberry Photography and Sam Wilson of Moonloop Photography.
