Finally… a night at the opera where no one dies!

At OperaDelaware, we’re known for high drama. Revolution. Jealousy. Betrayal. The occasional stabbing.

This time? Everyone survives.

Stayin’ Alive is an evening of opera devoted to the rarest of theatrical miracles: a story where the curtain falls and everyone is still breathing. From the razor-sharp comedy of Mozart and Rossini to the sparkling charm of operetta and the lush romance of the golden age, this is a night of soaring melodies, dazzling ensembles, and characters who outwit fate instead of succumbing to it.

No poison. No pistols. No tuberculosis.

Just brilliant music, irresistible storytelling, and voices that fill the room with joy rather than despair.

Meet the artists of Stayin’ Alive!

Featuring OperaDelaware Company Artists Emily Margevich, Dane Suarez, and Gerard Moon, with special guests mezzo-soprano Gina Perregrino and pianist Husan Chun-Novak.

What to Expect

• Iconic scenes from opera’s greatest comedies

• Romantic duets that end in celebration, not catastrophe

• Effervescent operetta favorites

• 90 minutes of music (with intermission)

• Drinks, popcorn, and an atmosphere that feels electric, not tragic

Opera doesn’t have to end in heartbreak to be powerful.

Sometimes survival is the triumph.
Sometimes love wins.
Sometimes the final chord rings out in laughter.

If you’ve ever wanted to bring a friend to opera without warning them about a body count, this is the night.

Stayin’ Alive: because not every great opera ends in tragedy.
