OperaDelaware sets are designed, built and painted for our performances at The Grand in Wilmington, Delaware. The stage has a depth of 30 feet and a 37-foot opening. For full technical specs of our performance space, click here. Due to limited wing space and very limited fly space, all OperaDelaware sets are designed without flying components. Offstage scenery and props store easily and compactly. Except where noted, our sets are designed to be moved in one 48' truck or two 24' trucks. Props that were used in OperaDelaware's production are included in the rental price. Additional props and furniture may be rented at a rate of $5-$25, depending on the item.
Rental charges for full sets start at $4,000. In addition to the rental charge, other non-negotiable costs to you include: a $400 design fee, a technical consultant fee of $350 per day plus round-trip airfare and accommodations if applicable, transportation/truck rental fees, and loading and unloading labor costs. BACKDROPS - OperaDelaware drops are designed for use in The Grand, with a 37' opening and height of 25'. Prices range from $400-$1500, depending on complexity. Drops are included in set rental pricing. Contact Lee Kimball for more details at (302) 658-8063 ext 3256 or lkimball@operade.org.
PROPS - OperaDelaware has an array of props and furniture, ranging from period antiques to modern day. Our stock is great for operas, plays, musicals, school events, holiday parties and haunted houses! Prices are generally $5 for basic hand props and $10 for basic furniture.
